Date : 2007

View south to Christ Church and the Upton Chapel on the corner of Westminster Bridge Road and Kennington Road. The church was badly damaged by bombs during World War II, as was the nearby Upton Baptist Chapel in Lambeth Road. The site was redeveloped in the 1960s as a chapel for joint worship with offices above. Christ Church was originally opened in 1876 and the surviving Lincoln Tower was paid for mostly by Americans and has stars and stripes decoration. Rowland Hill who founded the old Surrey Chapel in Blackfriars Road was reburied beneath the tower.
